ZERO Heinz Mack - Otto Piene - Günther Uecker
Vernissage 17. November 2016
Ausstellungsdauer 18. November to 18. December 2016
The city of Bonn has a shared past with the ZERO movement.
On 25 November 1966, Otto Piene, Günther Uecker and Heinz Mack exhibited together for the last time as the ZERO group at the Städtisches Kunstmuseum in Bonn. Here they staged the self-imposed dissolution of the ZERO group in order to conquer the world on their own from then on.
After the exhibition opening back then, they went to the "Midnight Ball" at Rolandseck station.
Now, 50 years later, on 25 November 2016, the Rheinisches Landesmuseum, Bonn, has opened almost the same exhibition as 50 years ago. All the alternators and the kinetic objects of the Three were restored together with the ZERO Foundation, Düsseldorf, and shown again in the exhibition.
Afterwards, we went back to Rolandseck station for the ball.
Of course, we accompanied this important ZERO event in Bonn with our own exhibition of "old" works by these three artists, some of which date back to the ZERO period, and also with completely "new" works that have just appeared and no one knows about yet.
